My name is Anne Marthe van der Bles. My research interests are connected to the question how we know what we know about the world around us and the society we live in – and how communication influences this. My PhD research focused on the Zeitgeist of collective discontent with society. As a Postdoc at the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication in Cambridge, I started studying how to communicate uncertainty about facts, numbers and science, without losing trust or credibility.
After finishing my PhD at Social Psychology at the University of Groningen, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication and the Cambridge Social Decision-Making Lab, at the University of Cambridge, UK. I was a By-Fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge. Currently, I am an Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Social Psychology, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, at the University of Groningen.
